The Magpies’ last major trophy came in 1955 when they won the FA Cup by defeating Manchester City. Guimaraes admitted that the upcoming final had been a distraction, affecting their league form in recent weeks.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he stressed that anything is possible in a final. He acknowledged Newcastle’s long trophy drought and emphasized the squad’s belief in securing silverware.

Despite missing key players, he remains confident in the squad’s depth and ability to challenge one of the world’s best teams. He believes Newcastle has what it takes to upset Liverpool.
