Ross Barkley, who came on for Amadou Onana at halftime, opened the scoring in the 77th minute, capitalizing on Villa’s sustained pressure.

However, Bournemouth’s Evanilson, a big-money signing, leveled the match late with a header from Marcus Tavernier’s free-kick.

Villa missed a golden opportunity to secure their sixth league victory, but they remain unbeaten in their last 11 matches across all competitions.

In the first half, John McGinn thought he had scored in the 28th minute, but a VAR check ruled the goal out as the ball had gone marginally out of play before reaching him.

Both Ollie Watkins and Morgan Rogers squandered good chances early on. Onana came closest to scoring in the 23rd minute when his header was saved by Mark Travers.

Despite a strong effort from Villa, which saw Pau Torres force another save from Travers, they couldn’t find the back of the net again until Barkley’s goal.

Bournemouth felt they were denied a penalty after Antoine Semenyo was booked for diving and another incident involving a handball by Leon Bailey was dismissed by VAR.

With six minutes of stoppage time indicated, Bournemouth managed to equalize when Evanilson glanced Tavernier’s cross into the net, ensuring the match ended level.

Next up for Villa is a clash with Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday at 7:45 PM.
