Cole Palmer’s exceptional play during Chelsea’s match against Newcastle United has made waves, especially after his brilliant 60-yard assist contributed to the opening goal.

Despite having a goal ruled out for offside by VAR in the first half, Palmer quickly made his mark by delivering a stunning pass that set up Pedro Neto, who then crossed for Nicolas Jackson to finish.

The match took place at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, where Newcastle initially equalized through Alexander Isak. However, it was Palmer’s remarkable vision and execution that caught the attention of pundits, notably Jamie Carragher. During his half-time analysis on Sky Sports, Carragher declared, “This pass over 60 yards… I mean, that’s one of the best passes I’ve seen, never mind this season, but in the Premier League. It took two or three Newcastle players out and was just on a plate for Neto and Jackson.”

Roy Keane also weighed in, praising Palmer’s awareness on the pitch. He noted, “Absolutely brilliant, I love watching this kid. Even his awareness when he receives the ball, he knows exactly what’s happening. From Palmer’s pass, he knows the space is in behind. Very few players have that. It was a perfect pass; you just run, and he’s going to pick you out.”

Palmer further solidified his impact by restoring Chelsea’s lead in the second half, securing a 2-1 victory for Enzo Maresca’s side. This win elevates Chelsea to fourth place in the Premier League table, accumulating 17 points from their first nine games.
