Following Manchester City’s recent victory over Southampton, they reclaimed the top spot, leading Liverpool by one point and sitting five points ahead of Arsenal.

The weekend’s marquee match saw Arsenal hosting Liverpool in a thrilling 2-2 draw, allowing City to gain a slight advantage in the title race’s early stages.

Hamann’s faith in Liverpool stems from City’s vulnerability after the season-ending injury to Rodri.

He highlighted the midfielder’s crucial role, calling him the “heartbeat of the team,” and believes his absence weakens City’s defensive stability and overall balance.

“This is why I slightly favour Liverpool,” Hamann told talkSPORT, emphasizing Liverpool’s strong chance to clinch the title.

Hamann pointed to Arsenal’s struggles to secure a title in recent seasons, despite impressive performances, and questioned if they can outlast Liverpool and City in the long term.

Meanwhile, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah delivered a key equalizer during the game, underscoring Liverpool’s resilience.

On the other hand, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta remains optimistic. Reflecting on the team’s display, Arteta expressed pride in Arsenal’s performance, particularly their control in the first half, though he acknowledged disappointment over defensive errors that led to Liverpool’s goals.

He emphasized the squad’s determination, saying, “The team is alive, the team wants it.”
