Gabriel, who was forced off after a knee collision with Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez, underwent scans which indicated a minor issue rather than a long-term injury.
Arteta noted, “It doesn’t look bad at all,” and added that Gabriel’s condition had improved noticeably, giving hope that he’ll return soon.
Timber, who recently returned from a previous injury, was also subbed off due to fatigue. Arteta clarified, “Jurrien is fine. He was tired and couldn’t continue,” suggesting a cautious approach to manage his return.
Meanwhile, Riccardo Calafiori is expected to miss a couple of weeks due to his recent injury against Shakhtar Donetsk, while Martin Odegaard continues his recovery from an ankle issue.
Arteta is hopeful that Odegaard will return before the international break, which would strengthen Arsenal’s lineup in key upcoming fixtures.
