The former Dutch international stepped in as the interim boss before Ruben Amorim, currently at Sporting, takes the reins at Old Trafford.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future role, Van Nistelrooy is eager to assist the club in whatever capacity necessary, stating, “I came here as an assistant to help the club, and now in this role, I’m helping as I’m needed. I’m here to serve and give my everything for the club.”

In the last 16 of the Carabao Cup, Manchester United delivered an impressive performance, defeating Leicester City.

Casemiro opened the scoring with a stunning long-range effort and went on to score twice, while Bruno Fernandes added two more goals, with Alejandro also finding the net.

Van Nistelrooy acknowledged that although the team enjoyed a successful game, luck played a part in their goals, contrasting this match with previous encounters where they struggled to convert chances.

He remarked, “We scored some great goals, but I have to say we had some luck as well.”

The interim manager praised his players for their response after conceding, emphasizing the importance of regaining momentum quickly.

He highlighted Casemiro’s influence and dedication, noting, “I was delighted for Casemiro, the way he’s been training and helping the team; he’s such an example.”

As Manchester United progresses through this transition period, Van Nistelrooy remains committed to the club’s future, ready to support the incoming management
