Following a challenging, injury-riddled 2023/24 season, Partey has bounced back, consistently starting in both Premier League and Champions League matches this term.

He has already surpassed last season’s total league minutes, marking a significant comeback.

Arteta noted the crucial role Partey plays, especially in light of Martin Odegaard’s injury, with Partey’s adaptability allowing him to fill in at right-back during defensive shortages.

Speaking ahead of Arsenal’s fixture against Newcastle, Arteta remarked, “Thomas is at the level we wanted. He’s only 31, in great form, and we’ll be discussing his future soon.”

Signed from Atletico Madrid in 2020, Partey has made 128 appearances for the Gunners and remains a vital piece in Arteta’s squad, despite speculation over his departure last summer. Alongside Jorginho, he is one of two key players nearing the end of their Arsenal contracts, with the club expected to evaluate potential extensions or replacements in the coming months.
