Leverkusen looked the sharper team in the opening half, pressing Stuttgart effectively and causing issues when VfB attempted to play out from the back.

However, clear scoring opportunities were hard to come by, with Stuttgart barely able to mount any serious threats during the initial 45 minutes.

Leverkusen’s best chance of the half came just before the whistle, as Victor Boniface connected with a corner, forcing Stuttgart’s Alexander Nübel to make an outstanding point-blank save to deny the goal.

The second half mirrored the first, as Leverkusen continued to push Stuttgart’s defense but failed to capitalize on their efforts. Either misplaced finishes or Nübel’s saves thwarted each attempt, frustrating the Leverkusen attack.

Despite their offensive energy and improved flow in comparison to previous matches, Leverkusen couldn’t outwit Stuttgart’s goalkeeper. Positively, however, they managed to secure their first clean sheet of the Bundesliga campaign.

Stuttgart, on the other hand, struggled in their offensive play, producing only a single shot on target by the final whistle.

This result marks a second consecutive draw for Leverkusen, potentially putting them seven points behind leaders Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig if both teams secure wins in their upcoming fixtures.

Stuttgart’s point also brings them closer to the European qualification spots, now just two points shy of Union Berlin in fourth place.
