Victor Boniface and Nathan Tella were in action for Bayer Leverkusen in their hard-fought 0-0 draw against Stuttgart in Friday’s Bundesliga clash.

The result saw Leverkusen miss a crucial opportunity to close in on Bayern Munich, as a victory would have brought them within two points of the league leaders.

Leverkusen now sits at 16 points, while Bayern remains at 20.

Boniface started for Xabi Alonso’s squad and played a solid game before being substituted just four minutes before the final whistle.

Tella, initially on the bench, was brought on in the 86th minute in a late bid to make an impact, but neither player could find a breakthrough against a resilient Stuttgart defense.
