Though United ultimately appointed Ruben Amorim, Silva was reportedly on the shortlist, with sports journalist Guillem Balague suggesting he was approached for the role.
Silva, however, remains focused on his project with Fulham, set to host Brentford in their upcoming Premier League fixture.
Silva expressed respect for the decision-making processes at major clubs, noting, “Each club has people in charge to take important decisions… You never know what is going to happen.”
Speaking about Amorim, who is set to join United from Sporting CP on November 11, Silva shared his admiration.
“We have a good relationship… He’s a very good manager and this is a moment to welcome him to the Premier League,” he said, confident in Amorim’s potential impact in English football.
Ahead of the Fulham-Brentford clash, both Silva and Brentford’s Thomas Frank reflected on their work in the Premier League and the potential for bigger roles.
Frank acknowledged the occasional allure of such rumors, commenting, “Of course, it’s nice to get praise… It makes you feel good and it feeds the ego.”
He emphasized his commitment to Brentford, while also hinting at openness to future challenges if the right opportunity arises.
