Arsenal’s Champions League ambitions face a fresh challenge as midfielder Declan Rice is ruled out of their upcoming match against Inter Milan.

Rice, who played a full 90 minutes in Arsenal’s recent 1-0 defeat to Newcastle, has been left out of the squad for precautionary reasons, according to reports.

Arsenal’s medical team decided against risking Rice’s fitness, and his status for the upcoming Premier League clash with Chelsea remains uncertain.

Martin Odegaard’s return to fitness, however, offers some relief for Mikel Arteta’s squad. The Arsenal captain, sidelined since early September with an ankle injury, has returned to training and is expected to be available for the Milan fixture.

Odegaard’s potential inclusion will be a boost for the Gunners, as they strive to secure points in the competitive Champions League group stage.

Arsenal has been in solid form in Europe, collecting seven points from their first three games, including victories over PSG and Shakhtar Donetsk.

However, Arteta’s lineup will be without defensive options Riccardo Calafiori and Takehiro Tomiyasu, both still recovering from injuries.
