Atalanta’s head coach, Gian Piero Gasperini, expressed high praise for winger Ademola Lookman, celebrating the player’s impressive development and consistency since joining the Italian club.

Lookman has emerged as one of Atalanta’s top talents, earning the club’s Player of the Season title for the last two years and gaining international recognition.
His strong performances recently led him to finish 14th in the 2024 Ballon d’Or rankings, a notable feat that underscores his growing stature on the global stage.
In a press conference ahead of Atalanta’s upcoming Champions League encounter with Stuttgart, Gasperini spoke about Lookman’s valuable contributions and adaptability alongside various teammates.
Over recent seasons, Lookman has thrived alongside forwards like Rasmus Hojlund, Gianluca Scamacca, Charles De Ketelaere, and now Mateo Retegui.
Gasperini noted that the 27-year-old Nigerian international is currently regarded among Europe’s best players and is widely expected to be a strong candidate for the 2024 African Player of the Year award.
“He has had a fantastic evolution. Lookman’s performance alongside different partners shows his adaptability and skill. He is among the top players in Europe, which reflects his world-stage potential,” Gasperini emphasized, noting that the player’s consistency has been his most valuable asset.
