West Ham forward Mohammed Kudus has received a significant five-match ban following his actions in last month’s clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

Initially booked after an on-field altercation, Kudus’ behavior, which included kicking Tottenham’s Micky van de Ven and pushing Pape Sarr and Brennan Johnson, escalated when VAR intervention led to his dismissal.

West Ham ultimately fell 4-1 to Spurs in a game that saw intense confrontations on the field.

Initially suspended for three games, the Football Association later extended Kudus’ ban, citing his aggressive conduct as grounds for additional disciplinary action.

This suspension sidelines the Ghanaian international for key matches, including upcoming fixtures against Everton, Arsenal, and Newcastle. Additionally, Kudus has been fined £60,000, and West Ham was fined £30,000 for failing to control their players’ behavior during the incident.

West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui is now facing further challenges as the team currently sits 14th in the Premier League standings.

Following a recent defeat to Nottingham Forest, Lopetegui emphasized the importance of consistency and resilience ahead of their next home game against Everton, stating, “We have to be more consistent…not just winning against Manchester United but competing well in every match.”

Kudus’ return is set for West Ham’s December 3 fixture against Leicester City, marking a month-long absence during a crucial period in their season.
