Following his move from Manchester City to Arsenal in 2022, Jesus quickly became a vital part of the squad, contributing significantly to the team’s push for the Premier League title.
However, the Brazilian forward has seen his playing time diminish this season due to a dip in form, leading to just one Premier League start so far.
Jesus, who scored his first goal of the season against Preston in the Carabao Cup after a lengthy drought, expressed his desire for more opportunities. “I believe that all players want to have more minutes,” Jesus said in an interview with TNT Sports Brasil.
He emphasized his commitment to working hard in training and maintaining a positive attitude, leaving the decision on game time to Arteta. He acknowledged the strong competition for places within the Arsenal squad but is confident in his potential to contribute significantly.
The Gunners are coming off a string of disappointing results, including a recent 1-0 Champions League loss to Inter Milan and Premier League defeats to Newcastle United and Bournemouth. Arteta, however, remains optimistic, praising his players’ performance and resilience despite the setbacks.
“We should have scored a couple at least,” Arteta commented after the Inter match, expressing his belief that his team’s level of play will allow them to bounce back against Chelsea in their next Premier League fixture.
