Former Tottenham Hotspur captain Hugo Lloris has openly criticized Daniel Levy, the club’s chairman, in his new autobiography, Hugo Lloris: Earning My Spurs.

Lloris, who made 447 appearances for the club over 12 years, shared how he felt Levy’s actions were often insensitive to players’ emotions.
One significant incident occurred in 2019 when Levy gifted the squad luxury watches before the Champions League final. The players were initially excited, only to discover “Finalist” engraved on the watches.
Lloris admitted that the engraving left him and other players feeling disheartened rather than motivated ahead of their clash with Liverpool.
Another issue Lloris highlighted was Levy’s decision to allow Amazon to film behind-the-scenes content for the All or Nothing documentary.
The squad and coaching staff were displeased with the lack of privacy, with cameras and microphones placed throughout the club facilities.
Lloris noted that players struggled to find areas to speak freely, feeling that the club’s priorities were financially driven rather than supportive of the team’s comfort and cohesion.
Currently playing for Los Angeles FC, Lloris still respects Levy’s work but remains vocal about these frustrating moments in his long tenure at Tottenham.
