Joe Cole believes Joao Felix has created a “headache” for Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca following his impressive display in Chelsea’s 8-0 triumph over Noah in the UEFA Conference League.

Felix, who has been used sparingly in the Premier League, scored twice as Chelsea led 6-0 by halftime. Additional goals from Tosin Adarabioyo, Marc Guiu, Axel Disasi, Mykhailo Mudryk, and a brace from Christopher Nkunku cemented their dominance, keeping Chelsea at the top of their group.

Felix’s limited involvement in the Premier League—eight substitute appearances without a start—has raised questions given his £45 million transfer fee from Atletico Madrid.

Left on the bench in Chelsea’s recent 1-1 draw with Manchester United, Felix seized his opportunity against Noah, showcasing his skill and composure.

Speaking to TNT Sports, Cole emphasized Felix’s remarkable talent, noting, “He applied himself brilliantly; his movement and finishing were exceptional, and he’s eager to make Chelsea his home.”

Cole underscored the forward’s capability of becoming a “20-25 goal a season” player, praising his technique, vision, and ability to assist.

Felix’s positive attitude, despite his limited minutes, has impressed both fans and pundits, potentially pushing Maresca to consider him for Sunday’s league fixture against Arsenal.

In Cole’s words, “He’s given the manager a real selection headache, which is good for the squad’s competitive spirit.”
