Eintracht Frankfurt’s sporting director, Markus Krosche, has addressed the recent speculation surrounding Omar Marmoush’s future amid rising interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Liverpool.

Krosche was quick to downplay any rumors linking the 25-year-old Egyptian forward with a move away, stating that Marmoush feels “comfortable” at the club and remains focused on his performances.

Since joining Frankfurt on a free transfer in May 2023, Marmoush has been a revelation. His debut season saw him score 12 goals and provide six assists in the Bundesliga, quickly becoming one of the standout performers for the German side.

This form has continued into the new season, with Marmoush already tallying 10 goals and six assists after just nine appearances in the league. His performances in the Europa League, including two goals, have also caught the eye of several top clubs, including Bayern Munich and Liverpool.

Liverpool’s interest has reportedly been piqued, with rumors circulating that they have made contact with Marmoush’s representatives, possibly as a future replacement for Mohamed Salah, who is in the final year of his contract at Anfield.

The Reds are looking to bolster their attack, and Marmoush, with his goalscoring prowess, fits the bill. However, Krosche is not concerned by the rumors.

“I’m obviously pleased that he’s still scoring,” Krosche said after Marmoush’s stunning free-kick against Slavia Prague in the Europa League. “I think Omar feels comfortable here, so we shouldn’t always discuss the transfer window or possible transfers.”

Marmoush’s incredible form this season has only raised his market value. Reports suggest that the Egyptian could be available for a fee in the region of €50m-€60m (£42m-£51m), but this sum could rise even further if his performances continue to impress.

His contract at Frankfurt runs until 2027, providing the club with a strong position in any potential transfer negotiations.

Despite Liverpool’s rumored interest, Frankfurt are confident that Marmoush is happy and focused on his football, with Krosche adding that discussions about transfers should not overshadow his excellent form on the pitch. The club is intent on keeping their star forward, at least for the time being.
