The 24-year-old winger initially suffered the setback during Everton’s 1-1 draw with Fulham last month, when he was forced off late in the game.

Although McNeil managed to play the full 90 minutes in Everton’s recent 1-0 loss to Southampton, manager Sean Dyche noted that the midfielder has been working closely with the club’s physio to manage the issue.

Despite his lingering injury concerns, McNeil returned to training with his teammates on Tuesday, signaling a possibility of his involvement at the London Stadium. However, his availability remains uncertain, as Dyche has not confirmed if McNeil will be fit enough to start.

Everton fans are also watching Abdoulaye Doucoure’s status, as Dyche revealed on Thursday that the midfielder has made significant strides in his recovery. Doucoure, who missed the game against Southampton, was initially expected to be sidelined for weeks, but his rapid progress suggests he could be ready for the West Ham encounter.

Currently positioned 16th in the Premier League standings with nine points from their first 10 games, Everton are in need of a boost.

56West Ham, slightly ahead in 14th with 11 points, are also under pressure as manager Julen Lopetegui faces scrutiny due to his side’s lackluster start, managing just three league wins this season.
