Chelsea’s Cole Palmer is determined to recover in time for the crucial Premier League match against Arsenal on Sunday after sustaining a knee injury in Chelsea’s recent 1-1 draw with Manchester United.

The 22-year-old attacker injured his left knee following a heavy tackle by Lisandro Martinez.

Palmer’s injury kept him out of Chelsea’s 8-0 victory over Noah in the Conference League, though he was present at Stamford Bridge to support his team from the stands.

Despite missing earlier training sessions this week, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca is hopeful that Palmer will join the squad for a practice session by Saturday.

Maresca, commenting on Palmer’s condition, said, “He’s better. He’s getting better. We still have two days to prepare for the game, and hopefully, he can join us for at least one session.”

Palmer has been using cold-compression therapy on his knee, sharing an Instagram photo in his training kit on Friday evening, suggesting he’s committed to recovering as quickly as possible.

A Chelsea victory on Sunday could lift them to third in the Premier League, while Arsenal will be aiming to recover from recent defeats against Newcastle United and Inter Milan.
