Manchester United wrapped up a dominant 3-0 win against Leicester City at Old Trafford on Sunday, providing a fitting end to Ruud van Nistelrooy’s tenure as interim manager.

The victory marked United’s third in their last four matches, setting a solid foundation for Ruben Amorim’s arrival after the international break.

In the 17th minute, Fernandes found the back of the net with a precise curling shot from the edge of the box, assisted by Amad Diallo’s clever back-heel.

United’s second came six minutes before the break, when Fernandes’ miscued shot was deflected off Leicester’s Victor Kristiansen into the net, giving United a fortunate 2-0 lead.

The game was put beyond doubt in the 67th minute when Alejandro Garnacho cut inside and fired a stunning curler into the top corner.

From the start, United dominated possession, with Fernandes’ early strike setting the tone. Leicester had a few dangerous moments on the break, notably through Abdul Fatawu, but failed to capitalize on their chances.

Wilfred Ndidi had the visitors’ best opportunity in the first half but his tame shot was easily saved by United keeper Andre Onana.

In the second half, Leicester showed little urgency, with only a few half-chances to show for their efforts. United controlled the game, and Garnacho’s brilliant second strike in the 67th minute put the match to bed

Leicester’s Struggles:

Leicester, without the injured Jamie Vardy, lacked offensive threat, with Fatawu offering the only real danger. Their defense struggled to contain United, and their best chance—through Ndidi—was wasted.

Van Nistelrooy’s final match in charge was a confident one for United, as they cruised to a straightforward win. Leicester will need to regroup after a performance that lacked cutting edge and defensive solidity.
