Despite being rescheduled to a 2pm kickoff on Sunday, the match originally fell under the 3pm Saturday broadcast blackout rule
This is regulation in place to protect attendance at lower-league games by preventing Premier League matches from being shown during the traditional Saturday afternoon slot.
This fixture shift occurred because United faced PAOK in the Europa League midweek, which necessitated moving the Premier League game.
Although now scheduled outside of the blackout window, the initial Saturday timing means it’s still ineligible for live broadcast under UK regulations. Instead, live radio coverage will be available through BBC radio, and highlights can be viewed on “Match of the Day 2” at 10:30 pm on BBC One.
Ruud van Nistelrooy will take charge of Manchester United for the last time as interim manager in this game, with Ruben Amorim set to assume the role next week.
