The neighboring nations are set to face off at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan on Thursday in what will be a pivotal matchday five encounter.
The Super Eagles made a strong impression in their previous meeting, securing a decisive 3-0 victory over Benin on matchday one in Uyo.
However, Rohr, who is well-acquainted with Nigerian football, has revealed plans to prevent a repeat outcome by focusing on his opponents’ defense. Speaking to Mega Sports, Rohr emphasized the return of two key players in Benin’s squad who could make a difference.
The coach announced the inclusion of Serge Obassa among the three goalkeepers, alongside Alagbé and Dandjinou. He also welcomed back midfielder Lenny Piringuel, who has been showcasing improved form with his new club, Rouen.
Rohr expressed confidence that Piringuel’s agility and recent performances could help his team exploit any potential gaps in Nigeria’s defensive line, which he perceives as vulnerable.
