Mid-flight, Fernandes noticed a passenger who appeared to have passed out and urgently called for help, alerting the easyJet crew by shouting, “Excuse me! We need help!”
Once the crew arrived, Fernandes stayed close by, offering assistance and ensuring the man was comfortable before returning to his seat.
Among the other passengers was Susanna Lawson, who witnessed Fernandes’s actions and later shared her account. “Bruno went to the back of the plane and held the gentleman who looked like he was passing out,” she explained.
“He was calm and didn’t seek any attention for himself, showing genuine concern.” She also described how Fernandes helped the unwell passenger find a spare seat at the back, staying with him for around 5-10 minutes before returning to his own.
In his last appearance for Manchester United before the break, Fernandes had scored and assisted in a 3-0 victory over Leicester.
After the flight, Lawson praised Fernandes for his help and later requested a selfie, noting that he was “absolutely lovely and unassuming” as he gladly took the picture himself.
Bruno Fernandes’s swift actions on the plane revealed his caring nature, proving that his assists go beyond the football pitch.
