Marcus Rashford’s form and attitude have come under scrutiny as former Premier League striker Troy Deeney believes the Manchester United star has been setting a poor example for younger teammates.

Rashford, 27, has struggled to regain his once-impressive form, which saw him shine in the 2022/23 season. Now, his performances seem lackluster, and he’s often appeared visibly frustrated on the pitch.
This season’s downturn has even seen Rashford dropped from England’s national team.
Deeney, speaking on talkSPORT, expressed concern over Rashford’s influence, particularly on the younger players in United’s squad. He pointed to Alejandro Garnacho’s recent behavior as an example, suggesting Rashford’s attitude may have rubbed off on the young winger.
After Garnacho’s goal against Leicester City, the 20-year-old refrained from celebrating, which team captain Bruno Fernandes attributed to the player feeling he had lost support from some fans.
Deeney argued that Garnacho’s reaction reflected a negative mindset inspired by Rashford, stating, “When I see what happened with Garnacho… I think that stems from Marcus.”
With Rashford’s current struggles, new United manager Ruben Amorim faces the challenge of guiding the forward back to top form as he prepares for his debut in the dugout after the international break.
