The 26-year-old defender’s contract with Liverpool ends this season, sparking Real Madrid’s interest, particularly after Dani Carvajal’s injury left a void at right-back.

However, according to Spanish sources, Alexander-Arnold prefers to leave Liverpool on a high note, aiming to secure a trophy under manager Arne Slot before his expected departure.

Real Madrid remains interested in securing the England international as a free agent this summer, though they had considered a January approach. The club faces a defensive gap, resorting to Lucas Vazquez, traditionally an attacker, to cover Carvajal’s position.

This situation became more complicated after Vazquez’s recent hip injury. Madrid had initially expected him to return by December, but medical staff now hope he’ll be fit for their upcoming Champions League clash with Liverpool on November 27.

Alexander-Arnold, however, is also in doubt for that match due to a hamstring injury sustained in Liverpool’s recent victory over Aston Villa.

As both teams navigate their challenges, Alexander-Arnold’s commitment to seeing out his Liverpool contract highlights his dedication to ending his Anfield tenure on a positive note.
