This move would position the Gunners with the largest club stadium in Britain, surpassing Manchester United’s Old Trafford.

Since its opening in 2006, the Emirates, with a capacity of 60,000, was the second-largest club stadium in England for over a decade. However, in recent years, Tottenham, West Ham, and Liverpool have all surpassed Arsenal’s stadium capacity.

In response, Arsenal are now seeking advice from stadium planners to assess how they can expand the Emirates while remaining competitive. The proposed expansion could significantly boost club revenues but would come at a high cost.

It is unclear whether Arsenal would need to relocate during the construction, but one option is to undertake work one stand at a time, minimizing disruption to the club’s matches.

The expansion would ensure that Arsenal’s stadium remains a leading venue in English football, especially as Manchester United explores plans for a new 100,000-seater stadium.
