The match began with Cameroon on the front foot, applying early pressure on Zimbabwe’s defense. The breakthrough came in the 18th minute when Vincent Aboubakar showcased his experience, scoring his 42nd international goal to give the hosts a 1-0 lead.

Just five minutes later, Georges-Kevin N’Koudou capitalized on a precise long pass from Christian Bassogog. Cutting in from the left, N’Koudou fired a powerful shot past Zimbabwean goalkeeper Washington Arubi, doubling Cameroon’s lead.

Zimbabwe responded after halftime with tactical changes, introducing attackers Terrence Dzvukamanja and Prince Dube in the 59th minute.

Dzvukamanja made an immediate impact, pulling one back in the 73rd minute by beating Andre Onana. Despite Zimbabwe’s spirited attempts to equalize, Cameroon’s defense held firm, sealing the 2-1 victory.
