The midfielder, who suffered a knee injury during the 1-1 draw against Manchester United earlier this month, initially joined the England camp for international duty but later withdrew alongside teammate Levi Colwill.
Enzo Maresca, Chelsea’s manager, confirmed that Palmer participated in full training on Thursday and Friday, hinting at his readiness for the match.
Maresca noted, “Some players are better, and we’ve tested them, including Palmer. Overall, they’re improving.” The only confirmed absentee for Chelsea is Reece James, who sustained a minor hamstring issue.
Rotation in midfield could be on the cards as Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo returned late from international duties in South America.
Maresca emphasized the need to manage players’ fitness, particularly after international matches, stating, “For those who’ve played extensively, we need to find a balance.”
Chelsea aims to strengthen their campaign, with Palmer’s return providing a much-needed boost. The clash against Leicester promises an intriguing battle as both sides look to gain momentum post-international break.
