The decision was made public in a club statement on Sunday, confirming the end of Cooper’s tenure just months into the Premier League season.

Official Club Statement

The statement from Leicester City read:
“Leicester City Football Club has parted company with Steve Cooper, who leaves his position as First Team Manager with immediate effect.

Assistant Manager Alan Tate and First Team Coach and Analyst Steve Rands have also left the Club. Steve, Alan, and Steve depart with our thanks for their contribution during their time with the Club and with our best wishes for the future.”

The club added that First Team Coach Ben Dawson will oversee training in the interim, supported by coaches Danny Alcock and Andy Hughes. Leicester’s leadership emphasized that the search for a new manager is already underway and will be concluded as soon as possible.

Leicester’s Struggles

Cooper’s dismissal comes after a lackluster start to the season, with the latest defeat to Chelsea highlighting the team’s ongoing challenges. The Foxes had hoped Cooper could replicate the success he achieved at Nottingham Forest, but results have failed to meet expectations.
