Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has openly expressed his concern over the team’s lack of firepower, urging several players to improve their scoring contributions.

Speaking at a press conference, Amorim highlighted the need for Marcus Rashford, Rasmus Højlund, Joshua Zirkzee, Bruno Fernandes, and Amad Diallo to step up, as United’s 13-goal tally in the Premier League ranks as one of the worst in the division.
In Amorim’s debut match against Ipswich Town, Rashford, starting as a striker, scored early but struggled afterward. Amorim admitted that the role doesn’t suit Rashford and promised to find better solutions for the player.
He also dismissed the need for a new striker, emphasizing the quality in the current squad, including Højlund and Zirkzee, who cost the club over £100 million.
Amorim added that improving team play, rather than splashing in the transfer market, is key. “We have quality players capable of scoring goals, but we need to improve as a team,” he said.
Challenges Ahead
United’s Europa League clash against Bodo/Glimt on Thursday is Amorim’s next test. Acknowledging the opposition’s intensity and technical strengths, he expects a challenging encounter.
Afterward, United faces Everton in the Premier League, as Amorim looks to rejuvenate a side struggling to find its rhythm.
