Despite Liverpool’s eight-point lead, Cole is confident that Chelsea can challenge for the title, especially with the potential to strengthen in January. He emphasized the club’s financial muscle and Maresca’s steady progress as key factors in their pursuit of the trophy.
The Key to Chelsea’s Title Challenge
Cole also highlighted Chelsea’s participation in the UEFA Conference League as an unexpected advantage. With fewer high-pressure matches, Maresca has been able to manage his squad more effectively, giving players like Mykailo Mudryk and Benoit Badiashile the game time they need to develop.
According to Cole, the key for Chelsea to remain in the title race is staying within six points of the leaders by January.
He believes that if they can achieve this, Chelsea will be well-positioned to mount a serious challenge, particularly if they bolster the squad in the winter transfer window.
