Jamie Carragher has admitted to underestimating Chelsea’s resurgence this season, altering his Premier League predictions to place the Blues in the top four.

Managed by Enzo Maresca, Chelsea currently sit third in the league, nine points behind leaders Liverpool but only one point adrift of second-placed Manchester City.
Carragher initially predicted Chelsea to finish outside the top six but now praises their dramatic improvement, stating, “Chelsea have been so impressive. I can’t really make a case for them not being in the top four.”
He also highlighted Chelsea’s strategic advantages, such as their early Carabao Cup exit and prioritization of European fixtures with rotated squads, giving them an edge in maintaining consistency.
Meanwhile, Tottenham, now sixth after a mixed run of performances, have been marked by inconsistency despite occasional brilliance like their 4-0 victory against Manchester City.
Carragher Backs Liverpool for Premier League Glory
Carragher has also shifted his title-winning prediction, backing Liverpool over defending champions Manchester City. Liverpool, led by Arne Slot, have started strongly, and Carragher believes their form and depth make them favorites.
“I’m going to go Liverpool to win the league now. I think they’ve got a sizeable lead and are bookies’ favorites,” he commented.
Additionally, Carragher sees Arsenal finishing above City, citing City’s midfield issues and Arsenal’s cohesion. However, he anticipates a close title race, with Liverpool, City, and Arsenal all likely to push until the final weeks of the season.
