Bukayo Saka has returned to Arsenal for treatment after being forced off during England’s match against Greece.

The Gunners star sustained a suspected hamstring injury midway through the second half at Wembley on Thursday night.

“He’s being assessed,” Carsley mentioned in his post-match press conference. “You could see he felt something in his leg during the build-up to the first goal.”

Sky Sports News has now reported that Saka has left the England camp to undergo further assessment at his club and will not participate in Sunday’s match against Finland.

Saka has been in exceptional form this season, with Arsenal just a point behind the Premier League leaders. However, fans will now have to anxiously await news on the severity of his injury.

Arsenal will face Bournemouth on Saturday, October 19.

Additionally, Liverpool’s Curtis Jones has also withdrawn from the squad. Meanwhile, Harry Kane and Jack Grealish have returned to training ahead of the trip to Finland after missing this week’s disappointing defeat.

After Thursday’s match, Saka was seen gingerly walking through the mixed zone at Wembley.

Arsenal will be hoping for good news, as they’ve already faced tough luck during international breaks this season.

Martin Odegaard sustained a “significant” ankle ligament injury during September’s break while representing Norway. The club captain has missed the last seven games but was spotted running on the treadmill at the club’s training facilities this week.

Meanwhile, Thomas Partey withdrew from the Ghana squad ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations double-header against Sudan. Kai Havertz also left the Germany squad before their matches against Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Netherlands.
