Super Eagles player Victor Osimhen has shown his support for Victor Boniface, who continues to struggle with scoring for Nigeria, according to Soccernet.ng.

Boniface again went without a goal as the Super Eagles narrowly defeated Libya 1-0 in the first leg of their 2025 AFCON qualifying doubleheader. The decisive goal came late in the match from Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, who entered as a substitute, providing Augustine Eguavoen’s side with a crucial victory. However, Boniface’s ongoing goal drought remained a hot topic.

The Bayer Leverkusen forward, despite being in excellent form at the club level, is still searching for his first goal for the national team. In spite of Boniface’s difficulties, Osimhen—who was sidelined for the match due to an injury sustained in a game against Kasimpasa—took to social media to encourage him.

Speaking in Pidgin, the Napoli striker reassured Boniface that the goals would come, saying, “No shaking my guy, e go come, and when e finally come, e no go stop.”

After the match, Boniface humorously questioned his “village people” on social media, referencing his lack of goals for Nigeria. He received an outpouring of support from fans and celebrities, including rapper Odumodublvck, who remarked, “Goal or no goal. You ball,” showing appreciation for Boniface’s efforts on the field.

Boniface will be looking to end his goal drought in the second leg of the qualifiers as Nigeria aims for a spot in the 2025 AFCON tournament.o
