Martin Ødegaard is on track to make his return from injury next month, despite rumors suggesting he has encountered a setback. The Arsenal captain sustained the injury during international duty with Norway in September, with Mikel Arteta confirming a “significant ankle ligament injury.”

Initially, there were hopes that Ødegaard could be available by the end of this month or early November. He provided a positive update in his program notes ahead of the Premier League match against Southampton. Footage has also surfaced of the former Real Madrid star actively rehabilitating, running comfortably on a treadmill at the club’s training facility.

Despite social media claims of a setback that might postpone his return until December, Sky Sports reports that he remains on schedule to come back in November. Ødegaard has not featured since the 1-1 draw with Brighton at the end of August, missing the last seven matches in all competitions.

Arsenal has continued to perform well this season, remaining unbeaten and sitting just a point behind league leaders Liverpool, even in Ødegaard’s absence. The team will play Bournemouth on October 19, followed by matches against Liverpool, Chelsea, Newcastle, and Inter over the next month.

While his injury timeline may sideline him for these games, Ødegaard expressed optimism about his recovery last week. “I’ve made really good progress in the last week or so,” he stated. “I’m improving daily, and it feels like things are going well.

“Seeing progress motivates me to push myself harder. With the upcoming international break, I’ll have extra time to focus on my rehab. I hope it won’t be much longer—I’ll know more once I’m back on the training pitch and can assess how my ankle reacts.”

He also added, “It looks like the team is doing just fine without me right now! They’ve been performing excellently lately and secured another great result against PSG on Tuesd
