Aaron Ramsdale’s father, Nick, celebrated AFC Bournemouth’s unexpected 2-0 victory over Arsenal, expressing his delight on social media. Goals from Ryan Christie and Justin Kluivert sealed the win for the Cherries after Arsenal’s William Saliba received a red card early in the match. Ramsdale, who left Arsenal for Southampton in the summer transfer window, had his father’s support amidst ongoing tensions regarding how the club handled his departure. Nick Ramsdale, a longtime supporter of Bournemouth, shared his excitement online, posting: “BACK OF THE NET BOSCOMBE!!!!” in reference to the club’s original name, Boscombe FC.

The social media post also hinted at frustrations lingering from Ramsdale’s treatment under Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta. Nick previously criticized Arsenal’s decision to bench Ramsdale for David Raya, sharing on a podcast that neither Ramsdale nor his family were aware of the shift in lineup plans. The post reflects both pride in Ramsdale’s former club Bournemouth and dissatisfaction with how Arsenal handled the goalkeeper’s situation before his transfer to Southampton.

Ramsdale, who spent three years at Bournemouth between 2017 and 2020, remains highly regarded by the club’s supporters, having been named AFC Bournemouth Supporters’ Player of the Year for the 2019-20 season. His journey has since taken him to Southampton after a three-year spell at Arsenal.
