Ademola Lookman watched from the sidelines as Atalanta stormed to a dominant 6-1 victory over Young Boys in their UEFA Champions League clash at the Stadion Wankdorf in Bern on Tuesday night.

Despite expectations that Lookman would feature, Atalanta head coach Gian Piero Gasperini chose to rest the Nigeria international for the entire 90 minutes.
The visitors put on a clinical display, with Matteo Retegui and Charles De Ketelaere each scoring twice. Former Arsenal defender Sead Kolašinac and Lazar Samardžić also found the back of the net for La Dea.
Young Boys managed a consolation goal through Silvère Ganvoula, but it was far from enough to challenge the Serie A side’s dominance.
Elsewhere in the Champions League, Nathan Tella made a late appearance in Bayer Leverkusen’s emphatic 5-0 rout of Austrian side Salzburg at the BayArena.
Tella replaced Jeremie Frimpong in the 68th minute as the Bundesliga outfit extended their dominant group stage form.
Both Atalanta and Bayer Leverkusen remain strong contenders in their respective groups as the competition heats up.
