Atalanta’s Nigerian sensation, Ademola Lookman, has been shortlisted for the prestigious Serie A Forward of the Year award at the upcoming Gran Gala del Calcio.

Lookman’s nomination comes as recognition of his outstanding performances for La Dea, which have solidified his status as one of Serie A’s most dynamic forwards.
Last season, the 27-year-old delivered a remarkable 17 goals and 10 assists across all competitions, and his form has carried into the current campaign, where he has already tallied eight goals and five assists in just 14 appearances.
The Gran Gala del Calcio Awards celebrate the finest in Italian football, honoring top players, coaches, clubs, and referees from the past year. This year’s ceremony is set to take place on December 2, with the winners chosen by members of the Italian Players’ Association (AIC).
Lookman faces stiff competition for the Forward of the Year award, contending with Victor Osimhen (Napoli), Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram (Inter Milan), and Rafael Leao (AC Milan).
Atalanta, too, are in contention for the Club of the Year accolade, while their manager, Gian Piero Gasperini, is a nominee for Coach of the Year.
Lookman’s achievements are not limited to Serie A recognition. He recently finished 14th in the 2024 Ballon d’Or ranking and is widely regarded as the overwhelming favorite to clinch the 2024 CAF Men’s Player of the Year title.
