Ademola Lookman is gearing up for a return to action with Serie A club Atalanta by the end of the month following a knee injury.
The setback occurred just before Atalanta’s UEFA Champions League match against Barcelona last month, sidelining the talented winger.
As reported by Transfermarkt, Lookman is expected to be fit for Atalanta’s Serie A game against Empoli on February 23.
The Nigerian international has missed the last three matches for Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad in all competitions. Unfortunately, he will also be absent for both legs of Atalanta’s Champions League tie with Club Brugge.
The first leg is set to take place at the Jan Breydelstadion on January 12, with the return leg scheduled for a week later at the Gewiss Stadium.
Despite his injury woes, the 27-year-old has been in impressive form this season, netting 14 goals and providing seven assists in 27 appearances across all competitions for Atalanta.
Lookman’s return will be a significant boost as the team aims to strengthen their position in Serie A and beyond.
