Ademola Lookman has reached a career milestone, claiming the prestigious CAF Men’s Player of the Year award for 2024.

The 27-year-old Nigerian forward was honored during a grand ceremony held in Marrakech, Morocco, on Monday night.
Lookman’s incredible year featured 27 goals and 12 assists across club and international competitions.
His standout performance came in the Europa League final, where he netted a hat-trick to secure Atalanta’s victory over Bayer Leverkusen. This feat earned him a spot in the Europa League Team of the Year.
On stage, Lookman shared an emotional speech filled with gratitude and motivation. “I want to thank almighty God for everything He’s been doing in my life. He’s been blessing me abundantly,” he began.
He extended his appreciation to the people who supported his journey: “I want to thank the Presidents, my teammates—both at the club and national level—for their support and love. This award is for me, my family, and my nation.”
Lookman reflected on his remarkable turnaround over the years. “Just over four years ago, I failed in front of the world. Now, I’m the best player in Africa,” he said.
Addressing young viewers, Lookman offered words of inspiration: “Don’t let your failures weigh you down or break your wings. Turn your pain into your power and continue to fly. God bless.”
