Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has named former Nigerian international Austine Okocha as his greatest football inspiration.
Iwobi has been a standout performer for Fulham this season, delivering exceptional displays across multiple competitions.

Speaking on the Is This Seat Taken podcast, Iwobi expressed his deep admiration for his uncle, Okocha.
“In sports? Forever my uncle, Jay Jay Okocha. I have to give him credit every single time, both on and off the pitch,” he shared.
Reflecting on his early years, Iwobi revealed how closely he followed Okocha’s career. “I used to watch his matches and training sessions. He’s the one who really taught me how to express myself on the field.”
Beyond football, Okocha has been a mentor in other aspects of life as well. “Off the pitch, he constantly advises me—how to be professional, handle my finances, stay humble, and remain grounded,” the former Arsenal player added.
