Ruben Amorim, soon-to-be Manchester United manager, has hinted at a potential move for Sporting CP star Pedro Goncalves, labeling him a player who “can play for any team in the world.”

Amorim, who is set to leave Sporting for the Premier League, made the comment following his confirmation as Erik ten Hag’s replacement.
Though Amorim made it clear that Manchester United would not pursue any players from Sporting during the January transfer window, he did leave the door open for future transfers, particularly in the summer.
He emphasized that Sporting’s players, including Goncalves, are of high quality, and hinted that the midfielder could thrive at any top club.
“He can play in any team in the world and with any player, because he is a great player,” said Amorim. “I could take him anywhere.”
Goncalves, a key figure in Amorim’s tactical setup, has been instrumental in Sporting’s recent league triumphs. However, Amorim stressed that the 25-year-old must remain focused on Sporting’s goals for this season.
As Amorim prepares for his first press conference as Manchester United’s new manager next week, he continues to praise the quality of his former players, while remaining tight-lipped about any immediate transfers.
