Andreas Christensen is open to leaving Barcelona this January, a move that could enable the club to pursue Marcus Rashford from Manchester United.
The Danish defender, who joined Barcelona from Chelsea, was a key figure in the team last season. However, a severe Achilles injury has sidelined him for much of the current campaign.
Since his brief substitute appearance in August, Christensen has struggled to reclaim his spot in the squad. With Pau Cubarsi, Inigo Martinez, and Ronald Araujo ahead of him in the defensive pecking order, his chances of regular playtime seem slim.

Barca manager Hansi Flick recently addressed Christensen’s situation, acknowledging the player’s recovery but emphasizing the stiff competition in defense. Flick remarked, “We’ve spoken with Christensen.
He has recovered from a major injury. There are players ahead of him, but we all know his quality. When he’s back to full fitness, we’ll see what happens.”
Christensen’s contract expires next year, and Barcelona is reportedly open to offers for the 28-year-old. According to Mundo Deportivo, Christensen is considering a move, with a return to the Premier League among the possibilities.
A departure for Christensen could clear the way for Barcelona to sign Marcus Rashford. The Manchester United forward is eager for a new opportunity after being sidelined by manager Ruben Amorim.

Rashford is reportedly willing to accept a pay cut from his current £325,000-a-week salary to facilitate a move to Camp Nou.
Barcelona has already initiated talks with Rashford’s representatives, according to ESPN. However, financial constraints require the club to offload players before completing any new signings.
Alongside Christensen, Erik Garcia and Ansu Fati are also rumored to be available for transfer as the Catalan side looks to balance their wage bill.
Rashford’s last Premier League appearance came on December 7 in Manchester United’s loss to Nottingham Forest.
His most recent outing in any competition was a Europa League match five days later. Despite being out of favor, Rashford remains open to playing for United if called upon.
Barcelona’s pursuit of Rashford hinges on freeing up financial resources, with Christensen’s departure potentially being a key factor in sealing the deal.
