Anthony Gordon is now a doubt for England’s upcoming fixtures after suffering an injury during Newcastle’s 3-1 victory over Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

The winger limped off in the 80th minute, visibly in discomfort as he left the pitch, following a strong second-half performance by Newcastle.
Newcastle had initially trailed 1-0 at the City Ground, thanks to Murillo’s opener, but responded with goals from Alexander Isak, Joelinton, and a quick-fire strike from Harvey Barnes, who replaced Gordon after the injury.
Gordon’s injury raises concerns not only for Newcastle but also for England, with interim manager Lee Carsley set to face Greece and Ireland in the Nations League.
Eddie Howe, Newcastle’s manager, admitted the 23-year-old winger was doubtful for the international break due to a recurring hip issue that had previously troubled Gordon. Howe stated, “It looks like a similar problem to one he had a few weeks ago with his hip. We hope it’s not serious.”
With Jack Grealish also carrying an injury, England could be short of left-sided attacking options. Gordon’s potential absence could leave England needing to find alternatives for their upcoming matches. After the break, Newcastle, now up to eighth in the Premier League, will host West Ham on November 25.
