Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon has dismissed speculation linking him with a move to Liverpool, emphasizing his happiness at St James’ Park ahead of the January transfer window.

Gordon, who joined Newcastle from Everton in January 2023 for £40 million, has been a standout performer under Eddie Howe.
The 23-year-old winger registered 11 goals and 10 assists in 35 Premier League matches last season and has already contributed six goal involvements this term.
His impressive displays have sparked interest from top clubs, including Arsenal and Liverpool, despite Gordon committing to a new long-term deal in October.
Rumors of a summer swap involving Liverpool defender Joe Gomez further fueled speculation, but the Newcastle star has firmly shut down any talk of an exit.
“I’m only 23,” Gordon told Sky Sports. “All I’ve heard is ‘When is he leaving?’ Who said I was ever going to leave? I’m very, very happy here. I love this place, I love playing football here.”
Gordon sent a playful message to his doubters earlier this season when he scored against Liverpool in December.
His celebration—mimicking talking gestures with his hands—was a lighthearted response to the constant transfer speculation.
“The celebration was just about all the talk surrounding my future,” Gordon explained. “People are saying where I’m going, where I want to go, and nobody actually asked me.
“Just leave me to play football. I just want to be happy and play. I love it here; I’ve said it plenty of times.
People assume the speculation is true, but you’ve never heard me say I’m unhappy. I love everyone here. I love playing football here.”
Gordon’s comments underline his commitment to Newcastle, where he remains a key figure in Eddie Howe’s plans.
On Saturday, the winger played a pivotal role as Newcastle ended their four-match winless run with an emphatic 4-0 victory over Leicester City.
