Arsenal have emerged as the third favorite to sign Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford in the upcoming January transfer window.

The 27-year-old forward, who admitted he is “ready for a new challenge,” appears to be planning his departure after a string of inconsistent performances.

Speaking to journalist Henry Winter, Rashford said, “When I leave, it’s going to be no hard feelings.

I’ve seen how other players have left, and I don’t want to be that person.” While confirming his future plans, he promised to release a personal statement when the time comes.

Despite scoring 30 goals during the 2022/23 season, Rashford’s form has dipped, netting only eight times last season and struggling this campaign as well.

His exclusion from Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2024 squad further underlines his recent struggles.

One significant hurdle in Rashford’s exit plans is his £325,000-a-week salary, which limits the pool of potential suitors.

According to Betfair, Paris Saint-Germain are the frontrunners at 7/2, followed by Saudi Pro League clubs at 6/1 and Arsenal at 8/1. Barcelona and Chelsea, both at 11/1, are also seen as potential destinations.

Despite Arsenal’s reported interest, PSG remains the most likely destination, with Rashford’s high wages aligning with the Parisian club’s spending power.

Meanwhile, a move to Saudi Arabia offers an alternative financial route.

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim addressed the speculation, saying, “Marcus Rashford is a big talent, and this club needs big talent.

My focus is helping him perform at the highest level. We’re better with Marcus, and I’ll push him to reach his best again.”

With just weeks until the transfer window opens, Rashford’s future hangs in the balance as top clubs weigh up the cost and reward of acquiring the England international.
