Arsenal is reportedly weighing a January move for AC Milan’s Nigerian international Samuel Chukwueze as manager Mikel Arteta looks to fill the void left by Bukayo Saka’s injury.

Saka is set to miss a significant period after suffering a hamstring injury. Reports suggest surgery may be necessary, which could sideline the star winger for months rather than weeks. With Saka’s absence creating a glaring gap in Arsenal’s attack, Arteta is exploring the transfer market for reinforcements.

According to MilanLive (via TEAMtalk), Arsenal may propose a swap deal involving Jakub Kiwior to secure Chukwueze. Milan is reportedly interested in the Gunners’ defender, who has struggled for consistent playing time this season.

Kiwior previously made a name for himself in Serie A with Spezia before joining Arsenal but has failed to cement a regular spot in Arteta’s lineup.

Saka’s injury is a significant blow to Arsenal’s campaign, as the winger has been pivotal, scoring nine goals and delivering 13 assists across all competitions this season. With his absence, Arteta will rely on Leandro Trossard and young prospect Ethan Nwaneri to step up on the right flank in the interim.

Chukwueze, who joined AC Milan from Villarreal in 2023, has yet to replicate the form he showcased in Spain, where he won the Europa League.

In 54 appearances for Milan, the winger has scored six goals and provided four assists. Competing for a spot with Christian Pulisic under manager Paulo Fonseca, Chukwueze has often struggled for consistent game time.

A move to Arsenal could offer the Nigerian winger a fresh start while providing Arteta with much-needed depth in the squad. With the January transfer window approaching, the potential swap deal involving Kiwior adds an intriguing dynamic to Arsenal’s bid for Chukwueze.
