The Gunners are highly impressed by the 22-year-old, who has earned recognition for his passing ability, vision, and athleticism.
Agoume, primarily a defensive midfielder in a 4-3-3 formation, can also operate as a central midfielder. Despite being capped six times by France U21s, he is yet to make his senior international debut.
Having joined Sevilla just 12 months ago, Agoume initially arrived on loan from Inter Milan in January 2024 before the Spanish side made the move permanent in the summer.
Sevilla secured his services for under €10 million, though Inter included a 50% sell-on clause, which could influence his current valuation.
Since his arrival, Agoume has made 31 appearances for Sevilla and has become a crucial part of head coach García Pimienta’s plans.
Last month, Pimienta praised both Agoume and another young player, Gerard Fernández, highlighting their importance to the team’s present and future.
“He’s a young player with significant potential,” Pimienta remarked. “While there’s room for improvement, Agoume has been vital for us in a highly competitive league.”
Arsenal’s interest may also be boosted by Agoume’s connection to William Saliba, who shares the same agent. This link could facilitate negotiations if Sevilla are willing to sell.
However, it’s unclear what price tag would convince the Spanish club to part ways with their midfield star.
