Arsenal Star Mocked for Copying Haaland Celebration After Huge Win

Jason Cundy has criticized Myles Lewis-Skelly for imitating Erling Haaland’s signature celebration, arguing that Arsenal have yet to earn the right to mock Manchester City.

Mikel Arteta’s squad delivered a stunning 5-1 victory over the reigning Premier League champions at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Lewis-Skelly, who had a heated moment with Haaland during their previous clash at the Etihad, made his statement by copying the City striker’s celebration after netting Arsenal’s third goal.

However, Cundy wasn’t impressed, advising the young Arsenal star to “wind your neck in,” warning that such antics could provoke City’s players in future encounters.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Cundy suggested that the real rivalry lies between Gabriel and Haaland, rather than the two clubs as a whole. While he appreciated competitive battles between defenders and strikers, he wasn’t convinced Lewis-Skelly’s gesture was wise.

“Arsenal fans will love it because he’s one of their own, but Haaland has already conquered football,” Cundy said. “At his age, Lewis-Skelly should focus on his game. He’s a top talent with a bright future, but these things can come back to haunt you.”

Cundy also questioned Arsenal’s standing, arguing that their lack of major silverware in recent years makes their bravado premature. He pointed to José Mourinho’s Chelsea as an example of a team that earned the right to be bold through consistent success.

“You win something, then you can start the mind games. But Arsenal haven’t done that yet. Right now, they’re just poking at giants who’ve already proven themselves,” he added.

Concluding his rant, Cundy claimed Arsenal excel at winning individual battles but struggle to claim the ultimate prize. “They celebrate the moment, but when was the last time they were the dominant force? Haaland has medals—Lewis-Skelly is just starting out. Let’s keep it in perspective.”
