Arsenal have set their sights on former Manchester City winger Leroy Sane as they look to strengthen their attack this summer. Mikel Arteta fully supports the move, recognizing the need for reinforcements in both forward and wide positions.

The Gunners have struggled in front of goal this season, with no player reaching double figures in the Premier League. Kai Havertz, their top scorer with nine goals, has been sidelined for the rest of the campaign due to a hamstring injury, further weakening Arsenal’s attack.

While Arsenal have been linked with strikers like Alexander Isak, Viktor Gyokeres, and Victor Osimhen, Arteta is also keen to strengthen the wings. Injuries and inconsistent performances from Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, and Raheem Sterling have left the team short on firepower.

According to German outlet Bild, Arsenal have identified Bayern Munich’s Sane as a key target. The 29-year-old has been a crucial player for Bayern since his 2020 move from Manchester City, making over 200 appearances and winning three Bundesliga titles.

Sane remains an important figure at Bayern, having played 33 times this season in all competitions. However, with his contract expiring this summer, he could be set for a move, and Arsenal see him as a strong addition to Arteta’s squad.

Arteta knows Sane well from their time together at Manchester City, where the German winger was instrumental in Pep Guardiola’s title-winning sides. His experience in the Premier League and versatility on both flanks make him an appealing option.

With Saka’s injury struggles and underwhelming displays from Martinelli, Trossard, and Sterling, Arsenal’s need for a top-class winger is evident. Adding a proven talent like Sane could provide the attacking boost they need next season.

Bayern Munich and Arsenal could still face off in the Champions League, with both teams reaching the quarter-finals. Arsenal secured their spot with a dominant 7-1 victory over PSV, while Bayern knocked out Bayer Leverkusen.
